Tom Sederberg is a professor of computer science and associate dean of the BYU College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. He and Dr. Barrett founded the Family History Technology Lab in about 1998.
Dr. Barrett is a professor of computer science at Brigham Young University where he has served as Department Chair and Associate Chair. He and Dr. Sedeberg founded the Family History Technology as part of a larger effort to expand technology's role in simplifying and automating family history.
Dr. Clement is a professor of computer science at Brigham Young University. His research at BYU centers on high-performance computing and bioinformatics.
Dr. Woodfield is a member of IEEE Society and ACM. He has many publications in software reuse and software requirements and specifications. His research results have been presented and published on a national and international basis.
Andrea Vukorepa was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. Majoring in Computer Science. Served in the Adriatic North Mission and taught Croatian/Serbian at the MTC for about eighteen months. Loves languages (including programming languages), playing piano, singing, hiking, and writing. On the handwriting recognition research team.
Ben is from Holladay, Utah. He is studying Computer Science with a minor in Business Management. In his free time, he enjoys being outdoors, reading and spending time with friends.
Bobby Alger was raised in Utah Valley. Majoring in Computer Science and Spanish, he also teaches piano and plays the Trumpet with several musical groups on campus including the BYU marching band and BYU Mariachi "Los Pumas." He enjoys sharing hobbies with is wife including cycling, hiking, and reading.
Brenden Grace is from Sacramento, California majoring in Computer Science with Animation Emphasis. In his spare time, he enjoys playing games and working on animation.
Calvin is from Logandale, Nevada and is a Senior majoring in Computer Science. Since January, 2016, Calvin has helped rewrite One Page Genealogy and Virtual Pedigree, and is leading development of Record Quest. In his spare time, Calvin enjoys watching movies and ice cream with his wife, Emmalee.
Chris is a Junior at BYU majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Scandinavian Studies. He started working in the Family History lab in May 2017. Chris is originally from Maryland, just outside of Washington DC, and loves to play, write, and record music in his free time.
Drew is from Snohomish Washington, a suburb of Seattle Washington. He has always enjoyed working with computers and is pursuing a degree in computer science. Drew also loves water sports, playing volleyball and camping.
Jacob is from South Korea and North Salt Lake, Utah. He is currently majoring in Computer Science. When he's not coding, he's busy reading, writing, and watching movies.
Jacob is from Mountain View, Wyoming. He is studying Spanish Teaching and Computer Science. In his spare time, he enjoys web design, spending time with family, and watching movies. He is currently working on Pedigree Pie and Geneopardy for the FHTL team.
Jared is from Rescue, California and is majoring in Computer Engineering. Outside of classes and work he enjoys running, backpacking and playing disc golf.
Jeremy Hodges is from Portland, Oregon. He is majoring in Computer Science with a minor in mathematics. He is currently working on several new apps including AncestorGames, Family Calendar, and Record Quest. In his free time, he loves to spend time with his wife, play basketball, and eat.
Joseph is from Layton, Utah, but has lived in a lot of cool places including England and Spain! He served his mission in Bogota, Colombia. He is a CS Major who just finished his freshman year at BYU and has been working at the FHTL lab since February 2017. He is currently working on Virtual Pedigree and One Page Genealogy, and in his free time he likes reading, sports and spending time with family and friends.
Kevin is from Franklin Pennsylvania. He is currently studying Computer Science at BYU. When he’s not programming, he enjoys listening to and playing music, and spending time with friends.
Mike is from West Valley City, Utah. He’s studying two majors - Family History and Computer Science. He enjoys doing genealogy, running, and spending time with friends. He is the lead developer and designer of Brownie.
Mitchell is an Information Systems student at BYU focusing in Software Development and Entrepreneurship. His father was an Air Force Officer, so Mitchell grew up moving every 2 years. He lived in Japan for 7 years, the Azores Islands for 2 years, and many other places throughout the USA. In his spare time he loves getting out in nature and camping with his family.
Nate is a senior at BYU majoring in Computer Science. He has worked in the lab since February of 2016, and interned at FamilySearch during the summer of 2017. He is currently developing DescendancyExplorer and also works as a teaching assistant for BYU's user experience design classes. When not working in cool tech, Nate enjoys camping, hiking, woodworking, and baking.
Ryan is a CS major from Southern California. He enjoys competing in food challenges, playing video games, and power lifting. When he isn't playing sports or coding he is often found napping or watching YouTube.
Spencer is from Oswego, IL. He is currently working towards getting a Double Major in Statistics and Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics. Currently, he is helping develop a new app called TreeSweeper. In his free time, Spencer likes to code, play games, and go to the gym.
